Condolences for Gerald "Jerry" Verse
My sincere thoughts & prayers are with Jerry's family at this sad time. Jerry's Deep Rock because of Jerry became my go to place for anything auto back in the 70s. He epitomized FULL SERVICE with a smile & a kind word or two and always at a fair price. I can still picture him through the windshield washing the window spotless while the gas filled. I didn't know him well but I still considered him a friend. Rest in Peace Jerry!!

Your Dad was a gem. He sure had a way with people. So sorry for your loss. Tough no matter what age. Peace to you all.

I lived a few blocks from Jerry's station on South Avenue when I moved to La Crosse in 1976 and started my job at Lutheran Hospital. Jerry "saved" me several times when my old car gave me problems. I always appreciated his kindness and expertise!

I enjoyed working for your dad at the Deep Rock in the early 70s. It was my favorite place to hang out as a teenager. With his always positive attitude Jerry taught me how important it is to treat the customers as you would want to be treated and do the extra little things to keep them coming back.
It meant a lot to me when he invited me into your home on Shore Acres sitting around watching the boats go by and maybe enjoying a Bloody Mary now and then.
I thought of him often and will always treasure the memories of my teenage years because of him.

They don't make them anymore like your father. He was a special person. We will always remember his smile and his sense of humor. Our thoughts are with you.
