Obituary for Sandy L. Johnson
She was born April 1, 1953 in La Crosse to Bernard and Berniece (Stratman) Ghelfi.
Sandy loved to knit and quilt with her mother until Parkinson's Disease took that ability away.
She is survived by her dearly loved son, Derek; sister, Pat (Brad) Hurda of Cashton, WI; sister-in-law, Debbie Ghelfi of Barre Mills, WI; nieces, Sarah (Jamie) Christensen, Jackie Crogan, Kristi (Tom) Parent, Nicole (Paul) Bingenheimer; nephews, Shawn Ghelfi, and Tim (Kelly) Servais; aunt, Nancy Ghelfi of Winona, MN; and many special cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn (Roger) Kirkeng; brother, Tom Ghelfi; special aunt, Marion Severson; and a special great-nephew, Nathaniel Crogan.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Fredrickson Funeral Home, Jostad Chapel, 121 North Youlon Street, West Salem, 54669. Deacon Bob Zietlow will officiate. Burial will follow at Hamilton Cemetery. A time of food and fellowship will take place immediately following the burial at 12 noon at West View Inn for a brunch buffet; all are welcome. A visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, Saturday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated in Sandy’s honor to Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation for research.
