Obituary for Jane C. Tatroe


Jane C. Tatroe, 91, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at Dove Healthcare in Osseo, Wis. She was born April 15, 1933, in Park Falls, Wis., to Joseph and Irene (Burhans) Wells. Jane was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Park Falls. She married Dale Tatroe on July 28, 1950, in Dubuque, Iowa, and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2010. The couple lived in the Janesville, Wis., area for some time and later moved to Phillips, Wis., until their retirement when they settled in Sparta, Wis. In addition to farming, Jane worked as a Home Health Aide. Jane and Dale loved camping. They started with a pop-up travel trailer and moved up to a fifth wheel. Their favorite campground was in Dexterville, Wis.

Some of Jane's pastimes were doing beautiful handwork such as embroidery, reading, watching westerns, loved the Milwaukee Bucks, enjoyed watching birds at her bird feeders, especially Cardinals, spent hours doing puzzles, loved to sing and sang like an angel, and she had a beautiful smile and was loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include her eight children, Keith (Leann) Tatroe, Larry (Jackie) Tatroe, Neal (Betty Jo) Tatroe, Kathy Anderson, Joe (Linda) Tatroe, Paul (Lana) Tatroe, Janeen (Michael) Anderson, and Tim Tatroe; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Jane was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Charmaine Tatroe, a son-in-law, Steve Anderson; and her sister, Kay Isham.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2024, at Fredrickson Funeral Home, Hwy. 162 and Hattan St., Bangor. Chaplain Bryan McGrath will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Town of Little Falls, Monroe County. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
