Obituary for Eric W. Buchholtz

Eric was born on July 11, 1971, to Gale and Jeanne (Cairns) Buchholtz. He attended Central High School in La Crosse, WI where resided most of his life. Eric did spend a decade in Apache Junction, AZ where he assisted with the start up and operations of the Mirage Sports Grill.
He had a passion and skill for construction. He worked for different companies, and eventually became the owner of his own, Buchholtz Construction, later known as Advanced Customer Builders. He was proud of the various structures he built throughout La Crosse and the surrounding areas. Eric was the SAL Commander and prior manager at the Roy L. Vingers American Legion Post 52 in La Crosse.
In his free time, he spent many Saturday nights racing at the La Crosse Fairground Speedway, cheered on by his daughters, family, and friends. He was an avid bowler and loved to play cards. He was a collector of all things, seeing value in what others did not. He loved his scratch-offs, pull tabs, and tip boards. He was a staple in many local taverns, often having his “own” designated spot.
Eric is survived by his father, Gale (Kathy) Buchholtz; his two daughters, Tyler (Adam) Yeoman and Aundrea (Brian) Albrecht; his brother, Jeff (Jenny) Buchholtz; step-brother, Shawn Craig; four grandchildren, Trae, Amari, Tegan, and Ryleigh; two nieces, Shalece (Ryan) Griffith and Rianna Buchholtz; his nephew, Christopher (Ashli) Buchholtz; five great-nieces and great-nephews; aunts and uncles, Debra (Mike) Sather, Ronald and Jean (Buchholtz), Willard Buchholtz, and Cheryl Buchholtz; many cousins and friends; and his special friends, Alicia and Quincy.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne Buchholtz; grandparents, Fern and Wilford Buchholtz and William and Wanda Cairns; his step-brother, Paul Craig; his uncle, Gary Buchholtz; and his good friend, Steve.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., on July 22, 2025, at Fredrickson Funeral Home, Woodruff Chapel, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. A celebration of life will follow at the Mirage Sports Bar, 3511 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse.
