Obituary for Clarice M. Koltermann
Clarice Mae Koltermann, 83, of Bangor, passed away August 3, 2026, at Mulder Health Care Facility in West Salem.
She moved to Mulder’s nearly a year ago, following a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s/Dementia. She passed away peacefully holding the hand of the love of her life; a testament to their 64 years of love and devotion.
Clarice was born September 2, 1942, in La Crosse, to Milo and Charlotte (Anderson) Knudson. She was baptized October 29, 1942 and confirmed May 20, 1956, both at Mindoro Lutheran Church and she was a 1960 graduate of Mindoro High School.
Clarice met Roy Koltermann on August 6, 1961, at the Avalon Ballroom in La Crosse. They were married on October 13, 1962, at Mindoro Lutheran Church. Throughout their marriage, they farmed together side by side. In addition to her work on the farm, Clarice spent 14 years working in the cafeteria at the West Salem School District.
She was an active member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Bangor as well as the Dutch Creek Homemakers. Clarice enjoyed playing cards, dancing, going on trips, going out to eat, going to church, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband, Roy; son, Roy (Dini) Koltermann and their children, Annette Anderson, Brad (Amanda) Shea, Nikki Shea, and Brytani (Craig) Beranek; son, Jeff (Kathy) Koltermann and their daughter, Kinsey (Jason) Koopmann; daughter, Janel (Jimmie) Hubert and their children, Brittany (Cole) Viner, Cameron Wells, Collin (Courtney) Wells, and Ayla (Daryl) Coates; daughter, Julie (Scott) Graphenteen and their children, Josh (Jessica) Koltermann, Spencer Phillips, and Taylor (Brooke) Graphenteen; 22 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marleen Kastenschmidt and Judy (Ellis) Stetzer; one brother, Steven (Lynn) Knudson; and many nieces and nephews.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Charlotte Knudson; grandson, Blake Koltermann; granddaughter, Barbie Koltermann; grandson, Justin Hubert; sister and brother-in-law, Ardelle and Curt Johnson; and brother-in-law, Leland Kastenschmidt.
A Christian Victory Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Bangor. Rev. Brock Groth will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, and also from 10:00 a.m., until the time of service, Wednesday, both at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Bangor.
