Condolences for R. Duane Deters

I was saddened to learn of Duane's passing. We got to know Duane and Delores when I was Jr High Band Director in Caledonia. His children were members of the band. Duane and I spent a lot of time together at CHU involved in Red Baron Flyers events and he was my instructor for my Commercial Pilots License. All of the RBF members spent long hours working the beer tent at the Houston County Fair, which paid for a number of aircraft and expenses for the club. I was grateful for Duane's support during my years as president of the Red Baron Flyers. I shall miss him.......

It is with remorse that I heard of Duane's passing. Duane was the long-term flight instructor at Caledonia Airport. We had many wonderful memories generated at the airport and the hangar flying after the day was done. My most sincere condolences to Delores and the family. May he rest in the Lord in peace.

Duane was an awesome flight instructor. He will be greatly missed in the local aviation community. Condolences to the family.
