Condolences for June Kjome

A one of a kind. Before there was a Gundersen/Lutheran, or a Lutheran Health System there was 'Lutheran Hospital'---and June as the first Director of Education; beloved, ringing her 'little bell' calling staff together to share, learn and celebrate. Many careers, including her time in Africa as a nurse, her time with us at 'Lutheran' and her community mission as an advocate for those in need and those whose voices were 'soft' and in need of her strong voice. Our institution was stronger for her presence, for her voice. Perhaps, in a way, the whole world is better thanks to June. Many are smiling, thinking of June. I know I am. Don.

What a legacy that June has left! Peggy and June worked together back in the days of the LaCrosse Conference of the former ALC. Then when Peggy had health issues, it was June who was our "pastor." Oh, the stories she could tell of her years as a medical missionary in South Africa. Well done, good and faithful servant! Rest eternal grant her, O Lord. And let light perpetual shine upon her.
