Condolences for Robert G. "Bob" Fisher

I am so very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I worked with Bob with the Wisconsin Association of Railroad Passengers for years, and I know he served many years with the National Railroad Passengers Association. He talked about several long train rides he thoroughly enjoyed. Most recently he helped as much as he could on getting a second daily Amtrak train to visit La Crosse. That project is so close now, but the inaugural run will have one empty seat that would have been his. My sincere condolences to his family. RIP My Friend.

Bob was a strong link from the past into the future. As a member of the WHNA Board he led us on a future-forward path under his spreading branches. I will remember him as a kind, gentle, and wise man. He will be missed.

The City of La Crosse and the field of forestry will miss Bob, as will I. He was an innovator and collaborator, and the world is a better place because of him.

RIP Bob - we treasure our days at Wesley.

So very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He will truly be missed by many. We knew Bob primarily thru Wesley Methodist Church where he was always willing to lend a hand.

Bob was a wonderful person that I will greatly miss. His commitment of time and energy to the Weigent Hogan Neighborhood Association were central in the early stages of its development through to the present. His role cannot be understated. As a prudent arborist, he reminded me to curb my passion for every tree I wanted to save. I needed to use that energy when it would truly help. Bob was easy to talk to and it was a joy to be waved up to his porch where we would talk prairie flowers and admire his majestic Ash tree. One of the finest in town. To Barb and family you have my deep condolences.

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was such a knowledgeable and informed person on a wide range of topics. And, he was so generous with his time and expertise, his absence will be missed.

Gosh, I met Bob when he was still working at the MRRPC. He served on our then Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. After he retired, he still stayed active and served as a member of our Technical Advisory Committee and Committee on Transit and Active Transportation as a citizen advocate for all things rail and pedestrian. I will really miss him. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Bob was so important to our La Crosse Community in so many ways. I learned so much from his patience, and calm demeanor, and his genuine ways. He was always sincere and honest, funny and inviting. I will miss him.

Bob's love and caring for the environment were the hallmarks of his career. A kind and gentle man always. We will miss him.
