My condolences to you on Daves death. We were at DNR together, although in different programs. Tho he did let me look at his woods and get him started tree planting. He was so enthusiastic to do some farming! He was a fun guy and a great storyteller of his experiences!! And a pioneer of trout stream practices commonly used today. Blessed be his memory.

My first husband and I met Dave and Gennean and Jessica in 1996 when we bought the home they were selling FSBO. The ad in the newspaper stated "one ugly room" which was the reason I just had to see the house. We were so impressed with Dave and the incredible additions he had made to the home and were also impressed with Dave's love for the area and his knowledge about the environment. My first husband passed from cancer in 2002 but I am still in the same home 28 years later. There have many many times through those years that I have thanked Dave in my heart for making this home so special.
Blessings to Dave's family and friends in this difficult time.

The memories we have shared in 54 years will live on in our hearts forever. Whether it be hunting deer, Tom foolery and a wedding up north in Tigerton to turkey hunting, a wedding and fishing in the LaCrosse area. The stories will go on forever! Thank you for some of the best times in my life...

We are so very saddened by David's passing. He lived a wonderful and interesting life, and was always eager to catch up during the Vetrano get-togethers. I will miss my cousin, as mom will of her nephew. Our deepest condolences to David's family.

I first met Dave, who was full of a zesty for life, in 1987, when I was a Viterbo College biology major doing ecological studies on area freshwater stream habitat.
Dave again became instrumental as my career encountered environmental education and studies over 30 years. He was such a a knowledgeable, kind, giving educator, mentor, and Steward.
I am so sorry to hear of his passing, and from pancreatic cancer. What a shock, what a loss.y mom passed from this, too.
Dave's work, life, passion, and guidance has left a forever imprint on the ecology of Wisconsin. I am forever grateful I was part of his orbit.
God bless you in your loss. God bless Dave's memory. He was an amazing man.

So sorry to hear of Daves's passing. I was fortunate to work with Dave while we were both at DNR and later when we were both with Wisconsin's Green Fire. He was always knowledgeable, passionate and fun
