Obituary for Marilyn A. Hoppmann
Marilyn A. (nee: Stuckenschmidt) Hoppmann, 88, of Barre Mills, passed away, peacefully, surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at her home.
She was born April 17, 1932, in La Crosse, to John and Emma (Miller) Stuckenschmidt, Jr. Marilyn was baptized on May 22, 1932, confirmed on Palm Sunday in 1946, and united in marriage to Wayne "Dusty" Hoppmann on February 9, 1954, all at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Barre Mills. She worked at Swift in La Crosse, and as a cook at Syl's Place, Luther High School, and retired from Lakeview Health Care Center. After retirement, she worked at the West Salem Middle School.
Her 88 years were spent selflessly serving others. A loving and supporting wife, mother, and friend. Someone who was always willing to step up and lend her time and talents wherever needed. A woman passionate about cooking, baking, gardening, fishing, and having a friendly game of cards. A woman of faith in her Savior. A lady who's infectious smile could brighten a day and a laugh one could not resist joining in on. She felt and comforted our sadness; yet, rejoiced and celebrated in our happiness. A person who touched so many hearts within, where she will live in those that know and love her. May she rest in peace in the presence of the Lord. Until we meet again...
