Obituary for Connie S. Majerus
Connie S. Majerus, 65, of Stoddard, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at her home after a hard fought and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born September 27, 1955, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to George and Bernita "Bea" (Bushart) Newman, Jr. She was a graduate of Tomah Senior High School and WTC with a degree in Stenography. She worked at Fed-Ex for 35 years and was known as "Mama Connie" by her Fed-Ex family. On February 18, 1995, Connie married John Majerus in La Crosse. She was a member of Stoddard United Methodist Church. Connie loved vacationing, traveling, spending time at the boat house, crocheting, reading, music, church fellowship, and dogs. She was a loving grandma to her grandchildren who were a huge part of her life.
Survivors include her husband, John; two daughters, Jen Marler (Bill Binnebose) and Beth (Matt) Schaus; three grandchildren, Owen and Andrew Marler and Carsten Schaus; step-daughters, Sasha Majerus and her children and Shantel Majerus; her brother, Allan (Dianne) Wildes; four sisters, Sharon (Radar) Newman-Matt, Denise (Mike) Hoppe, Cindy (Philip) Puent, and Jill (Brock) Larson; brother-in-law, Mike Bastian; grandpuppies, Leinie, Stella, and Rupert; and nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bea; step-parents, Bill and Lois; sister, Dawn Bastian; niece, Heather Beckler; step-daughter, Samanthat Majerus; and father-in-law, Maurice Majerus.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2021, at Stoddard United Methodist Church, 900 Broadway St., Stoddard. Rev. Banze Kyabuntu wa Kiluba will officiate. A reception and time of fellowship will follow. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse, and from 3:00 p.m., until the time of service, Friday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to The Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude's Children's Cancer Research; two organizations that were very important to Connie.
