Obituary for Phyllis A. Sandvick

Phyllis Ann Sandvick, 73, of Onalaska, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2021, at Tomah Nursing and Rehab Center in Tomah, Wis. She was born on June 20, 1947, to Virgil and Ann (Mahlum) Lang. On June 22, 1963, Phyllis married Harold Sandvick Jr., in Stoddard, Wis.; they later divorced. "My wish is to be cremated, with no visitation or funeral. A beer drinking-country music-dancing-outside-warm weather (80 degree) party to talk about all the foolish things I did. Try not to cry too much for me. I lived a pretty full life. I was blessed with five beautiful children, 12 awesome grandchildren, three wonderful sons-in-law; and a very courageous daughter-in-law." Survivors include her five children, Sandra (Davey) Kirchner, Vicki Sandvick, David (Cindi) Sandvick, Tina (Troy) Beeler, and Kristi Larson Sandvick; grandchildren, Kyle Kirchner, Jacob Campbell, Adam (Jen) Blom, Jordan Blom, Tyler Blom, Nathan Sandvick, Morgan Sandvick, Maxx Beeler, Trenton Larson, Trevor Larson, and Trey Larson; great-grandson, Emerson Sandvick; sisters, Roberta (Marc) Roberts and Peggy (Gary) Bloom; two brothers, John (Tammy) Billings and Albert (Janice) Billings; two nieces, Jesi Bishop and Heather Rochester; and one nephew, Tony (Rachel) Roberts. Phyllis was preceded in death by her grandson, Joel Kirchner; her parents; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold Sr., and Mary Sandvick. A celebration of life will be held at a later date and arrangements will be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. The family would like to thank her dear friend and neighbor, Leslie Harris for all the visits and meals and Aubrey and the rest of the staff of St. Croix Hospice. To Lynn, Nan, and staff at Tomah Nursing and Rehab Center, we thank you for your kindness, patience, and allowing her to die with dignity. A special thank you to RN Kelsey, the Onalaska Care Center, and the Gundersen Health System Oncology Department. The kindness shown and care given by all of you was above and beyond our expectations. Finally, her primary care physician, Dr. Kimberly Coyne who probably knew her more than anyone. Phyllis truly treasured their relationship.
