Obituary for Ronald O. "Bones" Oliver

Ronald O. Oliver “Bones”,81 of Bangor, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday June 24,2021. Ron was born January 17, 1940 to Orville and Alice Oliver of Chaseburg. Ron graduated from Viroqua High School and later went on to receive a Police Science degree from Western Technical College. Ron worked for the Village of Bangor for 10 years and for Trane Company for 34 years. Ron had a passion for cars, racing, woodworking and passed along his knowledge of these things to his children. Ron is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ruth Oliver, his children Bill Oliver of Coon Valley, Marsha (Pete Holte) Groth of Coon Valley, Denise ( Tim) Kroes of Mauston, Bob (Paula) Oliver of Cibolo,Texas, Kathy Rhoads of Federal Way, Washington, Mark (Amy) Zumach of La Crosse, a brother Doug (Jean) Oliver of Bangor, sister Nancy Proksch of Chaseburg, sister Lorrie (Terry) Proksch of La Crosse, sister in law Gloria Becker of Stetsonville, 14 grandchildren,15 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, campground friends and of course his beloved dog Maggie. He was preceded in death by his parents Orville and Alice Oliver, Mother and Father in law Christopher and Katherine Becker, brother in law James Proksch and brother in law John Becker. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm, on Thursday July 1, 2021 at the Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Bangor Chapel. A visitation will be held from 12 pm until the time of service.
