Obituary for Mildred E. Freng

Mildred E. Freng, 96 , of La Crosse, WI died Sunday, August 15, 2021 in the presence of her loving family. Mildred was born Jan. 11, 1925 in Bangor, WI to Julius Severson and Pearl (Streeck) Severson. She attended Bangor Elementary School and graduated from Bangor High School. On October 18, 1946 she married Duaine R. Freng in Bangor, WI. Mildred worked in an insurance office and helped at her fathers Bangor feed store in her early years and then was a registrar at the University of WI La Crosse until she retired in 1985. She was a member of the former Happy Twirlers Pistols and Petticoats. Millie enjoyed camping, bus trips, traveling and watching the birds. She loved to dance and most importantly spend time with her family. Millie is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (George) Joyce of Oakdale, Minn.; son-in-law, Al (Maggie) King of Phoenix Az.; four grandchildren, Kim Isensee of Onalaska, Wis., Kevin Pete of La Crosse, Wis., Jamie King of Phoenix Az., and Hayley King of Phoenix Az.,; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Mendell of St Paul, Minn. and Kyle Mendell of Onalaska, Wis; and one brother, Herb (Donna) Severson of Sparta Wis. She is preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, her parents and 2 sisters and 2 brothers. A graveside service will be held at 11 am, Friday, August 20, 2021 at Fairview Cemetery, Bangor, Wis. The Reverend J. Taylor Hayley will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory is assisting the family.
