Obituary for Shirley Ann (Oster) Elhardt
Shirley Ann (Oster) Elhardt was born December 13, 1943, in Hazen, North Dakota, and passed away at age 77 in West Salem, Wisconsin. Her parents, who preceded her in death, were Edwin and Freda Oster of Hazen. Her husband of 58 years, Allen Elhardt, resides in West Salem, Wisconsin. Shirley leaves behind two brothers, Sharold and Glen Oster, who reside in Hazen. She was a graduate of Hazen Highschool and Minot State College. She was an elementary teacher for seven years and worked in a print shop for eleven years, besides being a wonderful homemaker. Shirley was an amazing mother, a Proverbs mother, to her children, Mark Elhardt of Bismarck, ND, Sandy Ziemer of Cashton, WI, and Paul Elhardt of Charlotte, NC, and a caring grandmother (Nana) to her grandchildren, Maria (29), Daniel (28), Leah (24), Rachael (25), Gabriel (19), Allison (15), and Kyle (12). Shirley was very proud of and deeply cherished her children and grandchildren. She was a very kind, gentle, and elegant lady. With so many interests in flowers, gardens, books, quilting, painting, needlework, and homemaking, she had a life full of creativity and adventure. Shirley’s Christian faith was central in her life, and she looked forward to going home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021 at the Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, Jostad Chapel, West Salem. Burial will follow in Neshonoc Cemetery.
