Obituary for Harold F. Kruckow
Harold F. Kruckow, 86, of Caledonia, MN passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021.
He was born October 2, 1935 to Fredrick and Louise (Gstalder) Kruckow. He attended the country school house near his home through eigth grade. Harold helped his brother with excavating work and purchased his own lime spreader to haul and spread lime for farmers. He eventually took over the family farm and had dairy cows, raised beef cattle, hogs and crop farmed. On March 5, 1966 he married Judy Quinn at St John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Caledonia and they shared more than 47 years of marriage together, raising seven children.
Harold was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Caledonia, serving on the school board and church council. He had a strong faith that he instilled in his family. While farming was his pride and joy, he also took time out to enjoy his hobby of woodworking and to spend time with his grandkids, attending their sporting events, trap shooting with them, and giving Gator rides.
Harold is survived by his children, Paul (Cyndy) Kruckow of Caledonia, Laura (Jeff) Willer of Onalaska, Diane (Todd) Stadtler of Winona, Sarah (Joe) Cuellar of Las Vegas, and Amy (Joel) Schroeder, David Kruckow, and Matthew (Sarah) Kruckow of Caledonia; 15 grandchildren, Ryan and Isaac Kruckow, Alesha and Logan Willer, Amanda, Emily, and Brandon Stadtler, Alexander (Sasha) and Brock Cuellar, Mariah, Ashley, and Evan Schroeder, and Adam, Ethan, and Alyson Kruckow; two brothers, Marlin (Maxine) Kruckow of Houston and Lyle (Mavis) Kruckow of Hokah; one sister Wilma Wiebke of Caledonia, a sister-in-law, Eleanor Kruckow of Caledonia, and many nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife Judy, his parents, and siblings, Lavern Kruckow, Mildren Moen, Arnold Kruckow, Dorothy Houlihan, and Violet Gaustad.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 650 N. Kingston St., Caledonia. The Rev. Jon Wolff will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. A visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Caledonia, and also from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to St John’s Ev. Lutheran Church.
