Obituary for Alexander J. "Alex" Berg


Alexander J. "Alex" Berg, 15 year old son of John and Jean (Mikkelson) Berg, passed away April 12, 2022, at his home. He was a sophomore at Melrose-Mindoro High School where he played percussion in the band and especially liked being in pep-band. Alex enjoyed trap shooting, playing video games with his friends, hanging out by the creek, campfires, playing with his nieces and nephew, and hugging his sister, Alanna. He was a very good cook and baker; making bread and pie crusts from scratch and amazing hamburgers and cooking steaks over a campfire. Alex had faith in God and always took his Bible with him on trips. Alex will be remembered as a funny, sweet guy with a huge heart and unique sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his parents, John and Jean; his siblings, Alanna Berg, Justin (April) Stage, Jennifer Berg, and Jordan Berg; nieces; nephew; aunts and uncles, Judy and Roger Casberg, Diane and Peter Becker, Julie Dobbs (Roger Bible), and Jana and Mike Millis; cousins; and friends. Alex was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Janice Berg and LaVerne and Mildred Mikkelson and uncles, Ernie Berg and David Dobbs. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2022, at First Evangelical Free Church, 123 Mason St., Onalaska. Pastor Kevin Bonnar will officiate. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m., until the time of service, Monday, at the church.
