Obituary for Jean Marie Tumaniec
Jean Marie Tumaniec, 67, of LaCrosse, WI, passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2022. She was born to Edward and Margaret (Sprain) Tumaniec on Sept. 21, 1954. She was baptized at Holy Cross Catholic Church and then became a member of Holy Trinity.
Jean was a proud 1974 graduate of Central High School in La Crosse, where she also worked in the office as a student and became friends with the many staff members. She also enjoyed attending the class reunions and keeping track of her classmates.
Jean attended WWTC in the Food Service Program and upon her successful completion became employed for several years at Hillview Nursing Home. Later Jean was employed at Northern Engraving and ORC Industries.
Jean's greatest joy was the love she had for her furry companions, her cats. Each one was very special to her. She also enjoyed viewing nature from her bluff top home, playing bingo at the American Legion, Eagles Club and Moose Lodge. She enjoyed going to shows at the Fireside Theater, puzzles, crafting and visiting.
She is survived by her two sisters and their families: Mary Hanson of West St Paul, Mn, and her family, Erin (Alex) Wiesner and children Ellen and Eira and her nephew Christopher Hanson and his son Charlie. Carol (Mark) Francksen and her family David (Tami) Francksen and son Louis, and John (Emilee) Francksen and daughters Haley and Natalie. She is further survived by uncle, Arden Sprain; aunt, Janet (Norman) Hoover; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Diane Tumaniec Bailey; and brother-in-law, Gregory Hanson.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 6, 2022, at Jandt-Fredrickson Funeral Home, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m., until the time of service.
