Obituary for Marilyn L. Romskog
She was born December 20, 1943, to Bernadine (Strand) and Ervin Sprain. She attended local schools, graduating from Bangor High School in 1961. She met and married the love of her life, Jim Romskog, and they were married on August 8, 1964. They were blessed with 58 wonderful years together.
Marilyn wore many hats throughout the years, but first and foremost was a wonderful wife and mother. Early in her adult life she worked at Batavia Bank and at Crescent Jewelers in La Crosse. After her marriage to Jim, along with being a homemaker, she worked as a secretary at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in West Salem, as well as a long-time member of the choir. She was also a member of the West Salem First Responders as well as maintaining her own wedding cake designing business. Together, Jim and Marilyn owned and operated Cozy Corner Cottages on Brice Prairie for 10 years. In 2005, she and Jim retired back to West Salem to enjoy cruises, bus tours, gardening and going to the casino.
Marilyn will be deeply missed by her entire family and many close friends.
