Obituary for Peaches Joy Martin
Peaches was born on March 16, 1948 at home in Onalaska, WI to Ira and Bernice (Paulson) Orr. She was baptized and confirmed at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Onalaska. Peaches grew up at the family home connected to their business, The Lake Motel in Onalaska.
Peaches graduated from Onalaska High School in 1968. On July 20, 1968 she married Jerald Martin together they raised two sons. They enjoyed spending time camping and traveling out West to visit family. Peaches loved animals, drawing and painting. She enjoyed listening and singing along to music and especially classic rock. She always made sure to offer a cake, pie, or even a meal to her guests. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids and telling stories. She had a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh.
Peaches is survived by her daughter Cindy (Nate) Mallinger, sons Jay Martin, Wade (Haley) Martin. Grandchildren Clinton Tate, Julia Racquel Touchet, Jordan (Colleen Smith) Touchet, Jade Lamb, Kayla (Grant) Mayer, MacKenzie (Tyzin Bush), Jacob, and Gavin Martin and nine great grandchildren. Sisters Faye Bright, Vicky (Bill) Berg, brother Harley (Joan) Orr.
Peaches was preceded in death by her husband Jerald of 37 years and great grand daughter Lyrik Cynthia Tate.
The family would like to thank Lakeview Health for the care provided to Peaches during her time there. A special thank you Harley and Joan Orr for everything.
Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m., on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Fredrickson Funeral Home, Woodruff Chapel, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. Msgr. Jeffrey Burrill will officiate. Burial will follow in Mormon Coulee Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m., until the time of service, Friday, at the funeral home.
