Obituary for Loretta A. (Lemke) Storandt

She was born June 5, 1938, to William Lemke and Beatrice (Riley) Vaughn. Loretta graduated from Logan High School, in 1956 and the Wisconsin State College-La Crosse, in 1958. On December 27, 1958, she married Willard Storandt at Saint James Catholic Church in La Crosse. Together they raised five children on the family farm. Loretta was an educator with the Melrose-Mindoro School District until retirement in 1996.Willard preceded Loretta in death on October 9, 2021.

Survivors include children, Kathleen (Hugh) Hauser, Dennis (Julie) Storandt, Charles Storandt (Brenda Sperbeck), Michael (Val) Storandt and Laura (John) Yehle; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; seven step-grandchildren and sixteen step-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Willard, Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gerald “Buddy” Lemke; sister-in-law, Angeline (Roger “Rusty”) Haag; and great-granddaughter, Angel Storandt.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., October 18, 2023, at Mindoro Presbyterian Church. Pastor Allen Hanson will officiate. Burial will follow in Farmington Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., October 17, 2023, at Fredrickson Funeral Homes and Crematory, Jostad Chapel, 121 N. Youlon St., West Salem. There will be no visitation held prior to the funeral service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Mindoro Presbyterian Church or organization of donor’s choice.
