Mary C. Wood, age 75, of Holmen, WI, passed away peacefully in her home on April 13, 2024 with her husband Timothy Wood by her side. She was a creative spirit with a wonderful sense of humor who loved life and her family. She could light up a room with her smile.

Mary was born on August 24, 1948, in Stoughton, WI, to Lloyd and Alice Tholo. She attended Stoughton High School, before graduating from Madison Central High School, after her family moved to Madison, WI.

Mary dedicated her life to raising her three children–Caroline, Erik, and Emily–in La Crosse, WI with former husband, Dan Leaver. In 1997, she married Timothy Wood and they enjoyed nearly 27 years together. Mary was a talented individual with a variety of hobbies including knitting, photography, Norwegian rosemaling, arts and crafts, cooking, traveling, and water skiing. She also had a deep faith in God.

Mary is survived by her husband, Timothy Wood; her children: Caroline (Anthony) Beard, Erik (Katie) Leaver, and Emily Leaver; her grandsons: Isaiah, Zachariah, Curtis, Johnny, Andrew, and Leighton; her brother-in-law John Bolles, her sister-in-law Edie Tholo: and her nieces: Beth, Becky, Erica, and Stephanie.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Alice Tholo, her sister, Gloria Bolles, and her brother, Robert Tholo.

Mary's legacy of love, creativity, and laughter will be cherished by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M., April 27, 2024 at Living Word Christian Church, 2015 Ward Ave., La Crosse, WI, 54601. Pastor Mark Clements will officiate. A visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at the church. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 P.M. at Riverside Cemetery, Stoughton, WI, on April 28th. All are welcome to attend.
