Obituary for Alice Heimerdinger
She was born April 9th , 1959 to Adolph and Caroline Heimerdinger. She was a graduate of Caledonia Highschool and worked for UWL Food Services for 40 years – nearly a day missed.
Alice was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Caledonia. She is survived by brothers, Richard (Martha) Heimerdinger and Allen (Michele) Heimerdinger of Oakdale. MN; sisters, Jean (Ken) Frank of Onalaska and Carol (Tom) Puent of Albertville MN; Nephews and Nieces, Jonathan Heimerdinger, Jason Hauser, Brian and Tracy Heim, Linnea (Andrew) Benton, Cathryn and Rachel Heimerdinger, Alice's Godson, Peter Frank, Matthew (Megan) Frank, Danielle (Jordan) Berge, Anna and Krista Puent; Great nephews and nieces, Devyn and Gratian Benton, Colton and Ellayna Hauser, Christian and Bennett Frank, Lettie, Kenna and Calvin Frank and Savanah Berge; along with many cousins.
She was preceded in death by parents Adolph and Caroline Heimerdinger; infant brothers, John and Alvin; brothers, Harold and Arnold; nephew, Christopher Heimerdinger; all of her Uncles and Aunts she loved very much, Luke and Luella Martin, Erwin and Margaret Welke, Sonke and Corrine Petersen, Fred and Audrey Petersen, and John and Lucille Petersen.
Alice had a heart of gold. She would do anything for anyone. She loved country music, any animals especially dogs, her favorite Max. She loved to collect hats and was not seen often without one on. She enjoyed doing crossword and word search puzzles. She liked to play Euchre, Pac-Man, Lottery Scratch off Cards and Bingo. She had an amazing memory to recall past events and people and was a gifted story teller. She loved to be able to get in her vehicle to visit people or just to drive away from it all and yes smoke a cigarette when she could. She was proud of the last car she was able to buy even though her health determined she couldn’t drive it for long.
Alice was stronger than most anyone knew, for each loss she had to endure this last year. Since her independence and health started to fail in February, she often said, “Just tell them to leave me alone like Dad.” She had just one request for her birthday just less than 2 weeks before she died and that was, “I want visitors.”
This wish was fulfilled by Jenny Moen and many caring ICAN staff and clients, along with family and friends. She was also blessed with many cards, calls and prayers. Thank you for making her 65th Birthday the best it could be!
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Beth Iseminger her friend and Conservator, to the staff at Spring Grove Care Center, as well as Dr. Rein and Jo her favorite nurse and the Mayo Clinic staff at Caledonia..
And finally to the unwavering support to those who have remembered Alice with cards, calls and visits for many years. They were her life line. She appreciated it more then you know.
