Obituary for Dale Lockington
He was born to Francis and Virginia Lockington on May 24, 1937. Dale always enjoyed a good joke and had a contagious smile. He loved spending time with his large family and many friends he met along the way. He spent most of his career farming but did some factory work as well. He loved John Deere tractors and old model cars. He was an animal lover but horses were his true passion, whether it was riding them, training them, or hooking them up to a wagon and traveling around the tri-state area with his best friend and loving wife, Lois and one of his many favored dogs.
Dale is survived by his wife; Lois Lockington, his 7 children from a previous marriage; Ron Lockington, Tami (Bob) Johnson, Randy (Heidi) Lockington, Rocky (Angie) Lockington, Toni (Isaac) Hurst, Michael (Sue) Lockington, and Traci Malin, his son from a previous relationship; Dale J. Lockington, 3 step-daughters; Kathy Kulas, Debra Meyer, and Linda Meyer, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and step nieces and nephews.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents; Francis and Virginia Lockington, father-in-law; Lawrence Helgerson, mother-in-law; Leona Helgerson, son; Ricky Lockington, granddaughter; Candace McBride, sisters; Lorna Knutson, Doris Knudtson, Shirley Stone, brother; Don Lockington; brother-in-law; Herman Bernd and sister- in-law; Sharon Bernd.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:30 on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Mindoro Lions Club in Mindoro, WI with visitation starting at 11. Chaplain Kristin Van Heyningen will officiate. A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 on Sunday, June 23 at the Black Oak Cemetery.
