Obituary for Timothy "Tim" Konter
He was born February 3, 1955, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Tim was adopted by Marcel and Louise (Eichman) Konter. On May 5, 1972, he married Sue Donley in Bessemer, Mich., and they have been happily married for 52 years. Tim and Sue worked at Skipperliner for 30 plus years. Tim loved building boats and working with customers to create their dreams. Tim and Sue also worked together at Mid-City Steel until they both retired in December of 2021.
Tim enjoyed the restoration of classic and muscle cars and attending car shows. He also enjoyed UTV adventures, fishing trips, going to the casino, and motorcycle riding. His hobbies included doing projects; fixing anything needed, drag racing, and following the Green Bay Packers. Tim was an extremely kind, caring, family man and his pride and joy were his wife, children, and grandchildren. He never gave up his fight or lost hope during his illness.
Survivors include his wife, Sue; his daughter, Sheila (Brian) Arlt; his son, Marcel (Betsy) Konter; grandchildren, Shelby (Jordan) Chance, Savannah Konter, Kameron Konter, Sydney Hanson, and Khloe Konter; mother-in-law, Eloda Donley; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Evonne McCabe, Jeff (Joan) Donley, Dean (Glenda) Donley, Linda (Steve) Roberts, Pat (Jerry) Arenz, and Wayne (Jean) Donley; also, many loving nieces and nephews.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Cecil Donley; his brothers in law, Curt Donley and Steve McCabe; one nephew, Ryan Roberts, and one niece, Rachel McCabe.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Fredrickson Funeral Home, Woodruff Chapel, 4239 Mormon Coulee Rd., La Crosse. Rev. Joanne Richmond will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, La Crosse. A visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Tim’s family would like to thank their family members, friends, neighbors, and the Gundersen Cancer Center staff and Hospice Team for all of their support during this difficult time.
