Obituary for Donald F. Miller


Donald F. Miller, 79, of Bangor and formerly West Salem WI, passed away January 5, 2025 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI, surrounded by his family.

He was born July 9, 1945 in La Crosse, WI. His parents were William L. and Irma I. (Denson) Miller. He was a graduate of Logan High School. He then enlisted in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He married Joanne (Stark) on Nov. 18, 1967. They were happily married for 57 years. He worked for Trane Co. for 37 years as a machinist and CNC machine operator/programmer.

He enjoyed deer hunting. Loved the gathering together, with his sons and family for the annual gun deer season. He also enjoyed camping, fishing, Old time country music, and dancing. He loved woodworking, building, and designing his own furniture.

Survivors include: his wife, Joanne, son Donald Jr. (Cindy) Miller, daughter Lynda (Tom) Granstrom, and son, Robert (Michelle) Miller. Grandchildren: Emily (Adam) Wuensch, Stephanie Miller, Brianna Miller, Christopher Miller, JJ Miller, Angel Miller. Great Grandchildren: Jace Miller and Cameron Wuensch. Brother, William (Rose) Miller, Joyce (Lloyd) Guillian, and his twin, Ronald (Nancy) Miller and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 359 North Leonard Street, West Salem, WI. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Mormon Coulee Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses for the support during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to have memorials sent to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, West Salem.
