Obituary for Theresa Marie Olson

Theresa was born on August 12, 1940, to John Sr., and Lorraine (Antony) Brueggeman in Sparta, WI.

She attended school and was a member of the Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Bangor, WI.

Theresa was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Olson Sr., on October 25, 1958. Theresa and Bob went on to have four children Robert Jr. “Bob”, Rose, David, and Marianne “Mari”. In 1974 Theresa went to work for Spartek, in Sparta, where she dedicated 25 years to and retired at the age of 59.

Theresa enjoyed many things in life, but most of all gardening, reading, baking, trips to the casino, sitting around a campfire or fishing at their little getaway at Eagle’s Nest, playing Canasta, Pinochle or any cards really. A proud Green Bay Packer, Wisconsin Badger and NASCAR fan. Theresa shared the love of the sports and her time watching them with a cold beverage in her hand alongside her beloved children. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, celebrating holidays, having cookouts, and teaching her grandchildren valuable lessons in life such as how to make her famous Rosettes and Lefse.

A limb has fallen from the family tree that says grieve not for me, remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived while I was strong.

Theresa is survived by her son, Robert Jr. “Bob” (Tracy) Olson; daughters, Rose (Mark) Zwiefel and Marianne “Mari” Olson; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four sisters; two brothers; and many nieces and nephews.

Theresa was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Sr.; parents, John Sr., and Lorraine Brueggeman; in-laws, Elmer and Neva Olson; son David Olson; great-granddaughter, Taylor Metcalf; and her devoted companions, “Snoopy and Sandy”.

A memorial service will be held, in loving memory of Theresa, at Club 16, Sparta, WI on Saturday, February 15, 2025. A visitation shall be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 2:00 p.m.

Following her memorial service, a remembrance gathering to honor the life of Theresa and her son, David, will be held until 6:00 p.m.
